Maximising the use of MyCareerMatch by Career Advisers.
Engaging young people in career exploration using My Career Match
MyCareerMatch is a leading Australian provider of student career assessments helping them choose a career that matches their talent. The online survey promotes self awareness and personal career options are linked to the Job Outlook website. Career Advisers have access to an Electronic Workbook, parent and classroom material. Used by over 1/2 of all secondary schools in Australia.
The aim of these Professional Development workshops is to help Career Practitioners maximise the use of their MyCareerMatch facility with their students and clients. At the same time school career advisers and guidance officers are able to gain professional development recognition from their Professional Association.
Professional Development relevant to the role of a Careers Advisers in areas of:
- Counselling and
- Information and resource management
Topic Covered can include:
- The PD workshop introduces Careers Advisers to MyCareerMatch, an online careers survey that engages students in discovering who they are, their strengths and the careers they should consider. Young people want information from one source that helps them figure out what they’ll do when they leave school. Careers Advisers will see how MyCareerMatch does just that.
- Careers Advisers will be introduced to the survey and
- Learn how to interpret reports,
- Use the supportive material and resources in their classroom and one-on-one to engage students and their parents encouraging them to explore their career options and the education pathways that are required.
- Careers Advisers will also be shown how MyCareerMatch can be used for both personal development and student mentoring using elements of the student profiles.
- Careers Advisers will receive MyCareerMatch information and free trial code if needed.
Duration: 1 – 3 hours. Workshop content can be customised to suit the needs of the audience.
