This workshop aims to increase student’s ‘ENGAGEMENT’ with their personality profile by allowing them to ‘EXPERIENCE’ their MyCareerMatch Profile as they participate and contribute to the workshop.
This takes place in an interactive, fun and fast moving session will lots of student involvement!
“Know thyself” and “Understand others”
- The workshop will focus on the Personal Development elements of the student’s Profile.
- This workshop is suitable for students in Yr. 10, 11 and 12 and is 60 to 90 minutes depending on student needs and content.
- Students will have an opportunity to gain a better understanding and insight into their own personality style as well as that of other people. An interactive, fun and fast moving session will lots of student involvement.
Content is customisable, using a series of short focused activities students will:
- Understand their own personality ‘style’.
- Produce a positive, affirming “I AM” statement.
- Experience the different ways each style approaches life.
- See how the different “styles in action” is used to generate interest and involvement in the media and how this can apply to any workplace.
- Take ownership of at least one personal development issue they can address.
- Better understand themselves and how they can better interact with others at school , home, work or in the community.
- Gain an insight into a range of relevant career and study pathways based on their career profiles.
- Be able to use their profile content to enhance their Resumé
- Be aware of and able to make use of the other resources in MyCareerMatch
Workshop Requirements:
- Students will require a printout of their completed MyCareerMatch Profile.
- Where a school does not have a MCM subscription or University sponsorship we are able to provide a Submit code for students to complete their profile. The cost will be included in the Workshop quote so we will need to know student details.
- Students do not need to have read their profile prior to the workshop but will need a pen for writing.
- Group Size should be in the order of 30 students (min 20 / max 40)
- A suitable size screen and data projector (can be supplied if not available)
- A room suitable for students to move and sit in groups based on personality style for some exercises
Workshop Resources Provided:
Students will be given a Student Workbook that will:
- Guide students through each part of the workshop.
- Provide space for making notes and asking questions of clarification.
- Facilitate the generation of their ‘I AM’ Statement.
- Note some of their strengths and weaknesses highlighted in their profile.
- Record their personal development issue from their Profile that they will address.
A Master Copy of the Student Workbook will be provided prior to the workshop session for the school to arrange photocopying to match student numbers.
The workshop content can be tailored to specific needs and to complement other activities.
Workshop cost ranges from $300 per hour. Travel costs may apply. A quote is provided once workshop details are confirmed.
